Vanessa worked as a veterinary nurse in mixed animal Photograph of Vanessa Dyer, Director of the Hybrid Breeders Association (HBA)practice for over 22 years, an aspect that particularly interested her was the mentoring and training of new staff. This led to her securing a teaching position at Merrist Wood College in Surrey.

During her 14 years at Merrist Wood, Vanessa gained extensive experience in teaching and quality assurance which ultimately resulted in her leading a highly successful Animal Management team to an "outstanding" Ofsted grade.

After relocating to Devon, she took up a role working for the NHS Blood and Transplant team.

The Hybrid Breeders Association (HBA) is a voluntary registration service for hybrid dog breeders in the UK.  Our goal is to promote responsible breeding of hybrid dogs, exercising the highest standards of animal welfare and raise public awareness of the basic precautions that should be taken when buying a puppy.
