HBA - The Hybrid Breeders Association

Our Goals

The Hybrid Breeders Association (HBA) has been set up as a voluntary registration service for hybrid dog breeders in the UK.  We have four main goals

Our Mission

The mission of the Hybrid Breeders Association (HBA) is to promote responsible breeding of hybrid dogs, exercising the highest standards of animal welfare and raise public awareness of the basic precautions that should be taken when buying a puppy.

Our Goals

To support our Mission Statement, the HBA has developed four goals which are at the heart of everything we have set out to do.   Every initiative, project or activity we undertake supports one or more of these goals.

The four goals of the HBA

Goal 1

To provide a clear code of ethics and best practice for the breeding of hybrid dogs in the UK.

Goal 2

To ensure that all dogs that are bred from, are DNA health tested for the breed specific genetic mutations that are causing so many problems in the world of pure-breds today

Goal 3

To educate and support the buying public so that they can make the right choice of dog for them and their family circumstances

Goal 4

To highlight the limitation of the Breeding of Dogs Act 1973 and campaign for legal reform so that we, as an animal loving country, can finally put a stop to puppy farming and trafficking for good.

The Hybrid Breeders Association (HBA) is a voluntary registration service for hybrid dog breeders in the UK.  Our goal is to promote responsible breeding of hybrid dogs, exercising the highest standards of animal welfare and raise public awareness of the basic precautions that should be taken when buying a puppy.
